Toy Safety

How we label toys, and tips to keep playtime safe.

Store owner: replace everything in [square brackets] and delete this note before launch.

Our approach

giggleloft sells toys for the US market. [Before listing a children’s toy, we ask our suppliers for third-party test reports to applicable US standards (such as ASTM F963) and a Children’s Product Certificate (CPC).] Store owner: only keep this sentence if it is true for every toy you sell.

Age grading

Every product page shows a recommended age. Age grades are based on safety as well as development — a toy for “Ages 3+” may contain parts that aren’t safe for babies and toddlers, even if a younger child could play with it.

Choking hazard warnings

Toys that contain small parts, small balls or marbles and are meant for children aged 3–6 carry a choking-hazard warning. Balloons carry a warning for children under 8. On our site these warnings appear right next to the price, marked with the ⚠ safety alert symbol.

Tip: keep toys for older kids away from babies and toddlers in the same home.

Batteries & magnets

  • Battery requirements are listed on each product page. Keep spare and used batteries — especially button/coin cells — out of children’s reach.
  • Check that battery compartments stay securely closed.
  • Check magnetic toys regularly. If a magnet comes loose or a piece cracks, stop using it.

Everyday safety tips

  • Read and follow the instructions and warnings on the packaging.
  • Remove and throw away plastic packaging and tags right away.
  • Inspect toys regularly for damage and repair or discard broken toys.
  • Supervise young children during play.
